Theracurmin Super® Gains FFC Approval in Japan with Three Functional Claims

May 27, 2025

Theracurmin Super®, an advanced formulation of curcumin with enhanced bioavailability, has officially received approval as a Food with Function Claims (FFC) by Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA).

The product was registered under Notification Number J930, marking a significant milestone for the brand in one of the world’s most strictly regulated functional food markets.

Three Approved Health Benefits1

According to the CAA, daily intake of 45 mg × 2 of Theracurmin Super® is associated with the following scientifically substantiated health benefits:

  1. Reduction of fatigue
  2. Support for cognitive health, specifically in maintaining memory and attention
  3. Improvement in liver health, demonstrated by a reduction in blood ALT levels

Clinical Validation and Scientific Rigor

Since its launch in late 2022, Theracurmin Super® has been backed by five clinical studies conducted under its own label. This adds to the 34+ studies previously published for the original Theracurmin® formulation. The FFC approval further reinforces the product’s credibility and commitment to evidence-based health benefits.

Japan’s FFC system, introduced in 2015, allows companies to market foods with specific health claims without undergoing the more stringent approval process required for Foods for Specified Health Uses (FOSHU), provided that the claims are supported by scientific evidence and properly disclosed to consumers.
